I’m Tammy S. Drost—award-winning strategist, author, advocate, and entrepreneur. My journey has been shaped by resilience, hard truths, and the belief that no one should ever have to suffer in silence.
My Mother Was an Asshole is the story I once needed to read—part memoir, part survival guide—written to help others name covert narcissistic abuse, break free from its grip, and find the courage to heal.
For decades, I lived with the subtle but devastating effects of covert narcissistic abuse. On the outside, everything looked fine. Behind closed doors, manipulation, gaslighting, and emotional control chipped away at my confidence and sense of self.
If this feels familiar, know this: you’re not imagining it.
When I finally recognized the patterns, I realized I wasn’t alone—and neither are you. My mission is to shine a light on this hidden form of abuse so survivors can understand what’s happening, break the cycle, and reclaim their lives.
When I began writing My Mother Was an Asshole, I made myself one promise: I wouldn’t sugarcoat the truth. Survivors deserve honesty, validation, and the tools to heal—not vague platitudes.
This book is the culmination of years of reflection, research, and personal growth—designed to help others name the abuse, understand its impact, and begin the healing process.
In addition to writing and advocacy, I’m the founder of The Business360 Method®, where I coach and mentor entrepreneurs—especially women—to build businesses with clarity, confidence, and resilience.
My work with Business360 was born out of my own healing: reclaiming your power in business and in life starts with reclaiming your voice.
Whether guiding entrepreneurs, supporting survivors, or writing my next chapter, my mission is the same: to help people rise above their circumstances and create lives they truly love.
If my story resonates with you, know this—you are not broken, and you are not alone.
